Abstract
Endometriosis is the condition in which tissue like that of the uterine mucosa occurs outside of uterus.
This disease of women often affects pelvis but may involve other area, including skin. The pathogenesis of the endometriosis is not clearly established despite the various theories that have been presented.
The prevailing theories include; 1) transtubal regurgitation of menstrual blood; 2) the celomic
metaplasia doctrine; 3) lymphatic dissemination; 4) hematogenous spread.
The definitive histological diagnosis usually requires two of the three following features
Stroma, glands, and hemosiderin pigment, the stroma benign the most important element.
This report is concerned with recent experience with endometriosis arising in the lower abdominal wall of 48-year-old Caucasian woman who had not the history of operation.
